We have broken ground!!

We have great news! As of today we have broken ground and begun digging our column footings. Our project is becoming a reality! Thanks to Edgar, volunteers, and all at the UCD Design-Build studio students.

We will continue to add photos so stay tuned!

Design Process

UC-Denver Master of Architecture students enrolled in the Design-Build studio are currently exploring a range of built solutions for the C.A.S.A. site. Since mid-January, the Design Build studio has narrowed the overall scope of the C.A.S.A. project down to a scheme that centers around the main driving force of C.A.S.A. – the soccer field. Small groups of students within the studio have taken on elements geared towards seating, shade, concessions, edge conditions, and a toddler playground. Regular meetings held by the studio instructor, Bill Moore of Sprocket Design-Build in Denver, provide the entire class a chance to voice their opinions and concerns about the design and direction of the project.

Studio Design Collaboration Continues

The last couple weeks we have spent time in small group format designing different options for the semester project to help improve CASA facilities.

Today we will decide on a final design and move forward in finding materials that are readily available locally and or donated by generous sponsors.

We want to thank all the help and eagerness from the University of Colorado School of Architecture and Planning in Denver. The design-build studio is helping us by improving our facilities through design and constrcution! The project is estimated completion by June 2011.
