All of us with Design-Build studio and CASA want to thank Harris Rebar located in Commerce City for their generous donation of rebar to help us finish building our concrete footings! Your help has kept our project rolling!
We have begun assemblying the rebar cages for our footers and caps.
Check out all the construction photos at our Construction Photo Gallery.
We have great news! As of today we have broken ground and begun digging our column footings. Our project is becoming a reality! Thanks to Edgar, volunteers, and all at the UCD Design-Build studio students.
We will continue to add photos so stay tuned!
We want to thank Extra Building Materials for donating about 400 6″ White tiles!
We plan to use this tile for the new concession stand at the CASA site! Thanks for your donation and willingness to make this project thrive!
Our gratitude goes out to GH Phipps in their generous donation of materials and fasteners! They have donated:

Altitude Steel has donated the steel members used for the current soccer field. CASA recognizes them as a valued partner as they continue their support with material donations.
Omni Development Corporation has been one of CASA’s biggest sponsors. Without them we wouldn’t have our land for our facilities. Special thanks and gratitude goes out to Omni Development!
UC-Denver Master of Architecture students enrolled in the Design-Build studio are currently exploring a range of built solutions for the C.A.S.A. site. Since mid-January, the Design Build studio has narrowed the overall scope of the C.A.S.A. project down to a scheme that centers around the main driving force of C.A.S.A. – the soccer field. Small groups of students within the studio have taken on elements geared towards seating, shade, concessions, edge conditions, and a toddler playground. Regular meetings held by the studio instructor, Bill Moore of Sprocket Design-Build in Denver, provide the entire class a chance to voice their opinions and concerns about the design and direction of the project.
The last couple weeks we have spent time in small group format designing different options for the semester project to help improve CASA facilities.
Today we will decide on a final design and move forward in finding materials that are readily available locally and or donated by generous sponsors.
Stay tuned to read more on the final design the class choses. More pictures, plans, and renderings will be posted soon!
We want to thank all the help and eagerness from the University of Colorado School of Architecture and Planning in Denver. The design-build studio is helping us by improving our facilities through design and constrcution! The project is estimated completion by June 2011.
Further information and pictures will be posted when a design is pinned down. For now you can read more information on our Design-Build page.
